White Poplar Lumber 6/4” machines quite well, although the wood may be fuzzy on the surface after milling. Therefore, great care should be taken  in milling process. Kiln dried Poplar lumber has the moisture content of 8 - 12°C.
 

Yellow poplar 6/4" is light in weight, quite soft, has a low tortional and compressive strength, low shock resistance. After drying, the wood has no odor and taste and is not resistant to decay. The wood also glues well, dries quickly, has no cracking when nailed or screwed, low distortion but susceptible to warping when drying.
