SOLD……A Georgian folding fruit knife with engraved pearl sleeves. c 1800A pearl folding fruit knife with a silver blade decoratively engraved on the edge. The pearl is cut with horizontal lines and the silver spring cover with triple diagonals. c 1800 It is in good condition with no damage to the pearl. However it is worn there is some base metal showing on the silver cap and the blade is scratched, maybe a little short having lost 4mm off its tip. 8 cm long 13. 5 cm opened Stock no. JN15

The shield is that found on the 1814 pattern Household Cavalry sword -the type used on the battlefield at Waterloo

The white metal mounts are set with mother of pearl and have a clear paste stone in the centre

In excellent condition with age related dings as is usual but as it is of a good gauge of silver these are only slight

The two end caps sandwich a piece of candle wax

The rest of the varnished surface has some light scratching and pitting ( see last photo )

The propelling pin for the lead works as it should

The leather insert in the lid is marked in gold-
