SOLD......Four 19th century bone lace bobbins.Four more Victorian bone lace bobbins 1. Decorated with pewter spots. 2. Decorated with coloured spots. 3. Decorated with coloured stripes. 4. Decorated with turning and coloured stripes. All have their original glass beaded spangles. NB. Lace making was a cottage industry using domestic animal bone and local soft woods. Stock no. KV07d

The hall marks are for Sheffield 1842 maker AH ( Aaron Hadfield )

It has a leather spine and inside it is lined with a pink patterned paper trimmed with gold paper and has cloth leaves for loose needles
An unusual sewing clamp made of carved tagua nut and with a bone screw

The barrel and base are made of mutton bone as can be seen by the flecking in that material

There are a few Lilliputian pins remaining but most have been removed over time
