Like the Malconsorts this intensely mineral-driven effort is somewhat less structured than usual though it certainly doesn’t lack for power and punch
Interestingly given the style of the vintage this isn’t quite a big and robust as it usually is which should permit it to be approachable after only 6 to 8 years yet it has the stuffing to effortlessly develop over 15 to 18
A super-fresh nose is comprised by notes of essence of red pinot fruit
the 2006 Chateauneuf du Pape Vieilles Vignes is a blockbuster thats up with the top two to three wines of the vintage
fresh pastry
wild blueberries and black raspberries with touches of garrigue
All I can say is
but this is a super-impressive wine in every way
His latest releases are nothing short of spectacular
and there's no lack of volume or concentration
