Three French silver gilt sewing tools c1840.These three French silver gilt sewing accessories are from a set where sadly the other pieces were missing. They have the French boar's head mark for silver but are gilded. c1840 They are in very good condition with no damage, holes or repairs. Needle case 6. 5cm long Bodkin 5. 7cm Thimble 2cm tall with the finger aperture 1. 4cm Stock no. LR39

The bracelets would have had beadwork bands attached through the holes in the two sections of each catch

There are a few suspect stones -two are rather small for their settings and one appears to be chipped but none are missing

Four of the chains end in silver coins all with the date of Queen Victoria's Golden Jubilee in 1887

The purse is sub-divided inside with a closure in brass on the central part

little wear and only light surface discoloration (suitable for framing)

The maker's initials (GS) are stamped on the sides along with the lion assay mark but no date letter

In excellent condition- no damage and and with clean blades stamped with an S between crossed swords

There are two Dutch silver marks -the sword and an unidentified one possibly the town mark

A decorative white metal thimble with a purple stone set into the top protecting it from needle holes
