Antique silver watch fob, Pendant, Order of the garter, Maltese CrossAn attractive antique, 1910s, sterling silver fob. It is shaped like a Maltese cross with elaborately engraved and cut out features, the cartouche to the centre is enclosed by a belt and buckle design, better known as the order of the garter, one of the highest symbols and honours of chivalry at the time. A nice heavy fob with a decorative design and a blank cartouche to the centre which could be personalised if desired. The reverse is engraved with
some light surface wear and signs of use commensurate with age
