The original ebonite handle spins freely as it should. The tensioner works perfectly and results in a very strong check. Gear teeth and dual pawls are in great shape with very sharp points. Two screw adjustable line guard. Reel weighs 6. 7 oz. Original smooth alloy foot is un filed and measures 2. 4". Spool

55 oz (without the butt) and the ferrules are 16/64 and fit together perfectly

I don't know anything about the origins of this pattern although it reminds me of the Green Spey
