Unsteamed Beech lumber is easily milled by both hand and machine tools. The wood nails, glues well, can take stain and sand to good products. Beech lumber is quite easy to mill and dries quickly but susceptible to warping, cracking and splitting on the surface. The wood also has a medium distortion and a large shrinkage.
